Meet Hilary

Founder & Lead Instructor

I’m Hilary Anderson, and I created The Pilates House to share my love of Pilates in a space that feels approachable, inclusive, and energizing.

My own journey started in college, when I found Pilates as a cross-training tool for volleyball. That spark quickly turned into a lifelong passion — I completed my first BASI certification in 2010, and I haven’t stopped learning since.

Over the years, I’ve trained through BASI’s Mentor, Master I & II, and Honors programs, audited the full Comprehensive course again, and attended dozens of continuing education workshops. I believe that great teaching comes from staying curious — and I bring that same mindset into every class.

As an instructor, I care deeply about helping people feel empowered in their own movement. Whether you’re working through an injury, building strength postpartum, or just curious to try something new, I’m here to guide and support your practice.

  • Taylor W.

“As a former dancer, I’ve had high standards for movement and instruction—but taking Pilates with Hilary has been one of the true highlights of my life, transforming the way I connect with and move my body.”

  • Rhina

"Hilary's teaching helped me reconnect with myself on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level.”

  • Allison W.

“I found Hilary in the midst of a difficult chapter—recovering from a knee injury that had taken a toll on both my body and my sense of self. As someone who swam competitively for 12 years, so much of my identity was tied to my physical ability. Losing that was incredibly disorienting.

Hilary’s teaching didn’t just help me heal physically—it gave me a new way to connect with myself. Her guidance offered me strength, not just in movement, but in rebuilding trust with my body. Her impact has been life-changing, and I’m endlessly grateful.”

  • Mindy G.

Hilary has taught me the importance of proper form and movement, which ensures I get the most benefit from every class.  Her direction is precise, and her corrections minimizes any unnecessary body stresses while getting the deepest work possible.
